WE´RE RECRUITING!
We are in the process of collecting qualitative data as part of the ENGAGED Youth research project.
We are now looking for young people in Norway aged 13–25 who would like to take part in our research.
As part of the study, participants will join focus group interviews, where they will have the chance to share their own perspectives, experiences and thoughts about community, social issues and engagement.
Your voice matters, and by participating, you will help researchers better understand how young people think about society today, and what shapes their engagement.
Exploring Youth Engagement across Europe
ENGAGED Youth is a Horizon Europe research project (2025–2028) led by the University of Bergen.
The project investigates how young people engage politically and participate in their communities across diverse European contexts.
ENGAGED Youth explores how young people develop their social, cultural and political identities, their sense of belonging, and their trust in democratic institutions.
The project combines large‑scale survey data from the international HBSC study with qualitative research to understand youth engagement in depth.
Different dimensions
Our research examines four dimensions of engagement:
Sense of belonging
The feeling of connection and that you are a part of a group and community.
Identity
How young people define themselves socially, culturally and politically.
Trust
Their confidence in democratic institutions and their sense of belonging.
Participation
How they take part in their communities, both online and offline.
