In May, the ENGAGED Youth team at the University of Bergen had the pleasure of welcoming two enthusiastic 9th-grade pupils, Isabella and Sanna, as part of their work week placement.

Ahead of their visit, Isabella and Sanna conducted informal interviews with their peers to explore how young people understand politics and democracy. Their findings revealed that many youth have a clear grasp of democratic principles, and that social media and digital platforms are key sources of information.

During their day with the ENGAGED Youth team, they shared their insights, contributed to the development of questions for young participants in our project, and took part in our monthly consortium meeting. Their thoughtful reflections and fresh perspectives were a valuable addition to our work.

It was a real pleasure to have Isabella and Sanna with us. Their curiosity and engagement reminded us of the importance of including young voices in our research.

We thank them for their contributions and wish them all the best in their future endeavors!
